IPMS Coventry & Warks Winter Show

Venue: Midland Air Museum, Badington
Date: Sunday 3rd December 2017

where we were

Our happy band of Merry Warriors today were: Alan, Ashley, Stephen, Paul,
Tony, Kevin, Bryan, Nick, Stuart, Jean, Andy & Nigel

And here we are with another Hobby Show Season coming to an end and a nice slow down from the mayhem of Scale ModelWorld.

Situated just 20 or so minutes from Leicester Modellers HQ the Midland Air Museum is the venue for the years two Shows by IPMS Coventry & Warks (in June and December). This event is the quieter one and gives us all a chance to reflect on the year past and take stock of just how much Loft Insulation we have individually acquired over the season. (Scary thoughts for some, the rest daren't tell their partners!).

It's also time to plan for the next couple of months ahead with our winter projects, doing the Annual Workbench Tidy and then firing up the Workbench and Spray Booth in preparation for 2018.

Usually, it's freezing and, to see some there today you'd think so but, it was a very balmy 10+ degrees which is uncommonly warm for this show (that, or it's raining!). I actually commented that I had to go outside to get warm, it being actually colder inside the hangar.

We were just 6 Clubs today with 8 to 10 Traders all hoping to buy and sell their latest wares. I think almost everyone managed to obtain something to get them fired up. Not to mention the 'most excellent' Lemon Drizzle Cake from the Museum Café which gives one a real BUZZ for a couple of hours! (Nom! Nom!)
This is a pleasant day out with friends before the month goes Nuts with all that seasonal other stuff and normal life gets in the way. You never know you may just get that 'must have' prezzie or want before everything shuts down. Who needs the Internet anyway?

Sniff the Plastic, Feel the Plastic - you know you have too!!!
