Entrance Gate

I needed a generic base to support some of my vehicles and had this old plaster base in my collection

model news

I didn't take progress pictures for this because.....

at the time, a website was the furthest thing from my mind - Anyway.......

The set comprised: a Base, 2 Bollards, Gateway and Gates
Task 1 - Make a solution of water & white PVA Glue and paint it over the whole of the plaster pieces and allow to dry.  This will allow you to apply colour and texture without it soaking in and damaging the integrity of the plaster.
Task 2 - WALL - Using oil paint Raw Umber and mixing it in some white spirit I brushed it liberally onto the wall section, left it for a couple of minutes, then wiped off the residue with a tissue - this has 'stained' the plaster to resemble brickwork.
Task 3 - GATE - Using the same formula as the walls and using Burnt Umber I painted the gates and applying layers was able to detail some wear and aging to them.
Task 4 - ROAD - Same again mixing Black & White to render a grey finish and dry brushed with Naples Yellow for texture and dust.
Task 5 - DETAIL - the foliage is made up of brushing PVA glue onto the desired areas and sprinkling with flock powder and allowing to dry.  To raise the details, repeat as required.
